Collection Information:

• Trash and recycling collection occurs weekly on your scheduled day, either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
• Residents will no longer have to provide their own bins. Casella will provide each resident two carts, one for trash and one for recycling.
• Casella will no longer collect any material left outside of the carts.
• Beginning the week of August 30, 2026, Pay-As-You-Throw purple bags will be required for trash collection.
• Residents can contact Casella’s customer service representatives at 207-518-8653 or report issues through Casella’s App.

PAY-AS-YOU-THROW PROGRAM

PAYT Program begins the Week of August 30, 2026

• Residents will begin using the purple bags for trash collection.
• Purple Bags come in two sizes and are packaged in rolls of five (5).
• 5 - 15 Gallon Bags: $9.00
• 5 - 33 Gallon Bags: $15.00
• Purple Bags are wrapped in a Town of Durham wrap. For easy removal without tearing the bag, click this link.
